Bannerghatta Nature Camp - Looking for an overnight gateway away from the hustles and bustles of urban life? Bannerghatta nature camp, situated on the outskirts of Bangalore City, welcomes you to spend some quiet and serene moments full of natural bliss.
A 25-km drive from Bangalore will take you to the world of unspoilt nature. Truly not many of us could have expected such a sprawling natural reserve close to the city. The abundant nature and unbridled wildlife - the excitement is set to get bigger and better for you and your family, naturally at Bannerghatta.
Apart from being a family weekend gateway, the 25000-acre nature reserve is an ideal spot for off-site seminars, conferences and get-togethers for corporate houses.
Wildlife
An awe-inspiring world of wildlife will make you spell-bound at Bannerghatta nature camp, as this is the place where the Karnataka Forest Department rehabilitates lions, tigers and other animals rescued from exploitative environments. They have found their new habitat in kraals. At Bannerghatta nature camp, we can arrange lion and tiger safari to give you a ringside view of the jungle lives.
The wild is in its full flow in Bannerghatta. You can find elephants roaming in the dense forest. You will get the rare opportunity to sight animals like Bonnet Macaque, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Slow Loris, Wild Boar, Porcupine, three striped Palm Squirrel and Jackal.
For birdwatchers, Bannerghatta has got lots of surprises up in its sleeve. The nature reserve is the habitat for 200 rare species of birds like the Loten’s Sunbird, Small Green Barbet, Paradise, Tick ell’s Blue and Fantail Flycatchers.
Activities
Park yourself at the Bannerghatta nature camp and take drive into the Bannerghatta National Park. You can opt for an exclusive ‘Grand Safari’ in special JLR safari that will take you to the lion, tiger and the Bear enclosures. Safari of a lifetime, indeed!
You can also take a guided nature trek into the Herbivore area of the Park. This is the place where kids and budding naturalists can explore the many secrets of nature. Apart from nature and wildlife, spectacular viewpoint and several important landmarks at the park make it a true weekend vacation getaway.
Season
Climate at Bannerghatta is always good. However, if you enjoy the greenery, come during the rainy season (mid-June to August). The temperature during the rest of the year hovers around a pleasant 150C to 280C.
Accomodation
Bannerghatta nature camp offers you to choose from eight luxurious, tented cottages, twin-bedded Swiss tents with attached bath. The camp also boasts of two stilted log-huts made from locally available logs and material. With attached bath, these huts are well appointed and comfortable in every possible way. The camp has a tidy dormitory for the economy traveler as well.
Facilities
The Bannerghatta nature camp offers a fully equipped conference hall with its own audio-visual equipment and multimedia projector .The camp also has an open-to-sides, dining area called the Gol Ghar - a signature design component of Jungle Lodges and Resorts.
Cuisine
The Bannerghatta nature camp offers you an opportunity to satiate your desire for the best of the local cuisine - vegetarian and non-vegetarian at the buffet. Continental and Chinese dishes are also available on request.

Getting there
JLR’S Bannerghatta nature camp is located within the Bannerghatta Biological Park, a green oasis about 25km(40-min drive) from Bangalore City.
